Sculptural works in bronze are the mainstay of art over the centuries for thier public durability and timeless resonance. They also allow the artist to reproduce a plastic sensibility in a durable and resoundingly aesthetic material. Seen here is an early work done as a study of a Rodin work, "Danaid", and later repeated in fibreglass ten years on as a further study to self-observe technical development with the idea of recreating a further carving in marble after the experience Meadmore had in Carrara with her first sculpture in marble of feet. |
